First photoshop try mixing two images!!
For our course, doing a shoot with our images and photoshopping them was part of the final brief, so to avoid cheesy horrid outcomes due to my lack of photoshop knowledge I wanted my quiver in the background of an image so heres’ my quiver:
my image

So a grabbed an image I found online, a steampunk themed room with the gorgeous model Kato! So I had my try at photoshop,

and here is my result. not perfect but its an okay attempt :)

Look what i received :D Image of (me) Alice Bizarre taken by Danielle Tunstall Photography. dont know the artist but this is on Melisa Wheeler across the pond! x
We had to make imaps for our end of year essay (each is 25%) but being a practical course… this is how we do things! Seeing as my question is “How have design and realisation of practices associated with model making, character creation and special effects contributed to popular visions of the future?” I went for a cyber control panel thing (oh and there’s more information ON THE BACK)
I hope my friend Alice doesn’t mind me posting this. But it’s such a cool photo!

The Thing
I accidentally watched the dog scene from the movie when I was 8, didn’t properly watch it again til a few years back (still have to mute the dog squeals in it!) The special effects and animatronics in this film are absolutely incredible, a huge inspiration to me in my career and uni work This movie has a mix of fantastic action filled scenes, as well as some VERY intense blood testing scenes ;-) If you want to watch a horror this halloween with scifi, incredible sfx work and scenes with tension you could cut with a knife THIS IS THE FILM TO WATCH

Rocky horror
One of my favourite musicals, its legacy of audience participation, fancy dress and lots of fishnet stockings makes this a perfect film for Halloween! The songs are so memorable and catchy with an ace bunch of singers to match. The characters have so much colour and with such a variety of personalities, there is a really good balance in the cast! An absolute cult classic of musicals and fabulously dark films, Rocky horror has fantastic tunes, SCI-FI and Tim curry with better leg than half the girls i know!!

Alien
Stunned my friends by telling them I hadnt seen this before!! And oh my was it worth the wait!!! The H.R. Giger design of the whole film was incredible, so much attention to detail which is so iconic in the scifi films you see today! The famous stomach scene completely lived up to expectations I love the fact no one was told what was going to happen prior to the scene so it was really interesting to see such fantastic actors show real reactions and not actually have to act; made it much more intense!! The seen in the tunnels and fire was another one which made me jump!!! Really enjoyed this film, and yet I couldnt help but smile at the fact Sigourney Weaver, saved the cat

The Brain that wouldn’t Die
With the opening phrase ‘let me die, let me die’ I was instantly questioning the creepiness of this old feature! Sadly, that was on the only creepy part of the whole film!! It was slightly dark, had an interesting concept and the fact the creature in the film looks EXACTLY like Tiny from Devils Rejects really emphasised to me how influential older films are on recent ones!!!!! . I found the lead actress’ voice annoying throughout but on the plus, the little addition of Adelle Lamont was gorgeous eye candy! Was an old kind of crap film but sadly not in the good way.
